Home Made Puffy Paint

Option 1 - For the older kids!


Ingredients/Utensils:

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Paper or craft paper

  • Messy mat

  • 3/4 cup of shaving cream

  • 1/4 cup of white glue

  • 1/4 cup of flour

  • Food colouring of your choice


Directions:

1. Add the ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

2. Mix until well combined.

3. Separate into bowls and add your food colouring of your choice.


Tip* The recommendation for this activity is to place the puffy paint into squeezable bottles, this paint drys in the air so using paint brushes may become difficult to spread your new creation. This also prevents any spills or flicks and saves your furniture!



Home Made Puffy Paint

Option 2 - For the younger kids!


While the recipe above is for older children this recipe below can be used for all ages! No matter the age your children can get involved.


Ingredients/Utensils:

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Whisk or hand mixer

  • Large tub and play mat

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • Favourite bubble bath

  • Food colouring of your choice

  • Utensils of your choice eg, Spoons, spatulas, measuring cups.


Directions:

1. Add 1/4 cup of water, 6/7 good squirts of bubble bath and your choice of food colouring into your large mixing bowl.

2. Using your whisk or hand mixer mix for around two minutes or until foamy.

3. Once you have completed all your colours place them into your large tub and place on top of your play mat (this prevents spills).

4. add in your utensils, this allows the children to explore and play in all different ways!


These activities allow your children to explore their imagination and allow for hours of fun and imaginative play. There are many benefits when it comes to your child learning through play.
